YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — What can almost $1 million in early childhood funding do for kids in a Midstate county? Folks in York County are about to find out.
York County leaders celebrated the awarding of $890,000 in grants through the York County Economic Alliance and a program called “Every Child Has Opportunities,” or ECHO, grants.
“These dollars give parents choice, choice of education and care for their young children and we know the value of early childhood education and the value of a child’s first 5 years of life, so for parents, it is really about resourcing them, giving them choice,” said Katie Caples, the Director the Community Connections for Children.
Grants have already funded the creation of 400 new childcare spots across York County.
